Shaquille O'Neal May Run for Sheriff

Former NBA All-Star Shaquille O’Neal May Run for Sheriff of Atlanta-Area County In 2020

Shaquille O’Neal says “This is not about politics. This is about bringing people closer together.” “You know, when I was coming up, people loved and respected the police, the deputies. And I want to be the one to bring that back, especially in the community I serve.” The 45-year-old former NBA All-Star and sports commentator was sworn in as an honorary sheriff’s deputy last year. “I can put on a suit and have a conversation with Bill Gates. I can go in the ‘hood and talk to the homies, and talk to the children,” he said. He offered a preview of his possible campaign slogan. “Shaq for sheriff! Back to the old school,” he said. He said he hasn’t completely made up his mind yet, but his ability to relate to anyone makes him perfectly suited for the job.

Retired basketball star Shaquille O’Neal has endorsed literally everything under the sun and now he is hawking a new product: Shaq for Sheriff. You’ve probably seen Shaq endorsing The General Car Insurance or Icy Hot patches since he retired in 2011. This would be his first foray into law enforcement, but he said he could make up for that by putting together a great team. Despite limited experience, he said he could put together the right people to help him in the job. “I know how to run the team,” O’Neal said. “My style is going to be to surround myself with guys that have been doing it way longer than I’ve been doing it, surround myself with smarter people. And I know it’ll be successful.” O’Neal is an honorary deputy in Georgia’s Clayton County and has been a reserve police officer in Los Angeles; Miami Beach; Tempe, Arizona; Golden Beach, Florida; and Doral, Florida. While O’Neal says he is ready to run a sheriff’s office, he plans to steer clear of managing a city. “Mayor no, I would never run for mayor,” O’Neal stated. Sounds like Shaq knows how much trouble you can get into being a politician nowadays. Lol!

Will Shaq Be Successful At Running For Atlanta Area Sheriff?

Susan Z’s Conclusion:

Yes, he will, if he decides to stick with Atlanta. He has choices about where to run for Sheriff and may change it later on. Either way, he has a good shot at becoming the sheriff he wants to be.

Six of Cups:
This card is one of nostalgia for the past and forgiveness. I feel this card is Shaq’s reasons for wanting to be in a law position to change how people feel about the police for the better.

Five of Wands:
This card is one of arguments and fighting. I believe this card shows Shaq will have much opposition to his more relaxed approach of how the law deals with criminals.

The High Priestess: Inverted (Upside Down)
This card is a woman who is self-sufficient but also feels isolated and alone. This could be his fiancée Laticia’s concern over his personal safety holding a position of Sheriff but knows he is hell bent on doing what he wants.
