What Upset Michael Jackson’s Daughter?
Michael Jackson would definitely turn in his grave if he knew about the cast of Urban Myths. According to his fans that is. Not that Paris Jackson, Michael’s 18-year-old daughter is too happy about what’s coming, either. In the short trailer of the new comedy, Joseph Fiennes playes the role of the legendary singer.
Which, of course, might be intended as a joke, as it’s supposed to be a comedy. Still, Paris claims that the trailer and presumably the whole play lacks all kinds of respect. Although it is allegedly to portray some of the greatest urban legends of all time, it doesn’t appeal to everyone.
Of course, it is very difficult (if not impossible) to capture the true essence of such a legend. He is remembered by many things, but his legacy lies within his life’s work. He wasn’t liked by all, but nearly everyone admired him for his talent and braveness.
“Shameful portrayal.… He made a point of it plenty of times to express his pride in his roots. He would never have wanted this.” Paris’s tweet opened the eyes of even those, who wouldn’t have considered this side of the story before. Even the portraying actor voiced his concern regarding his role back in February.
“I knew the sensitivity, especially to Michael’s fans and to Michael’s family. It doesn’t negate who he was.” Although it is a sensitive subject indeed, he is right. What Michael Jackson left us with doesn’t change with our perspective and opinion about him.
